Elizabeth Schulze is a correspondent at ABC News based in Washington,
D.C. Her reporting appears on “Good Morning America,” “World
News Tonight with David Muir,” ABC News Live, “What You Need to
Know” and all ABC News television and audio affiliates.

Schulze’s coverage includes business, economics, policy and
politics. Her ABC News Live series, “Ca$hing In with Elizabeth
Schulze,” breaks down how decisions by policymakers in Washington
impact Americans’ pocketbooks. She also fills in as anchor on ABC
News Live and has hosted ABC’s network programs, including
“GMA3,” “Good Morning America: First Look,” “World News
Now” and “Nightline.”

Schulze played a key role in the network’s coverage of the 2024
presidential election, reporting on the battleground state of Arizona
and the fight over abortion rights. Other notable stories she has
covered include the impact of inflation on the American economy, the
Federal Reserve’s policy decisions, the economic effect of tariffs,
the East Coast port strike, the battle over IVF in Alabama, and the
failure of Silicon Valley Bank.

Her special “Generation Swipe” on ABC News Live, Disney+ and Hulu,
which covered social media’s impact on young Americans, earned her
the Dateline Award for best television business report from the
Society of Professional Journalists’ Washington, D.C., Chapter in
2025.

In addition to reporting on the business sector, Schulze has traveled
across the country for breaking news stories, including the plane
crash at Washington Reagan National Airport, the collapse of the
Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore and Hurricane Ida in Louisiana.
In July 2023, she traveled with then-President Joe Biden to the NATO
Summit in Lithuania.

Prior to joining ABC in 2020, Schulze worked at CNBC, covering
economics, financial markets and technology for eight years. She was
based in London as a CNBC International correspondent for over two
years. Before relocating to London, Schulze was based at CNBC’s
global headquarters in New Jersey, where she was responsible for
covering the Federal Reserve beat.

Throughout her career, Schulze has moderated panels and interviews
across Europe and the Middle East with chief executives and top
policymakers, including at the IMF Annual Meetings in Washington,
D.C.; the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland; and Web Summit
in Lisbon, Portugal.

A Minnesota native, Schulze graduated magna cum laude with a double
major in journalism and international studies from Northwestern
University’s Medill School of Journalism. She is married with two
children.
